What is a betting margin?
Updated
A betting margin (also called edge, juice, or vigorish) is how bookmakers make a profit. It’s the difference between the true probability of an event and the odds offered.
Why it matters
- Lower margins = better value and higher potential returns.
Pinnacle averages 102% (2% margin), compared to the industry average of around 106%.
You can quickly calculate margins using Pinnacle’s Margin Calculator under Betting Resources > Tools.
